Nevada's native population includes the Washoe, Northern Paiute, Southern Paiute, and Western Shoshone. In 1880, Nevada had more foreign-born residents per capita than any other state in the nation. Now one of the fastest growing states in the nation, Nevada is again characterized by considerable ethnic diversity.
